![]() And, it's built like a tank, with a really heavy solid metal case. And then, the more I dig in, the more it squeals, but even when I hit it really, really hard, it never gets too harsh or ragged sounding. And its dynamics are equal to the very best I've ever tried at any price, with a warm, sweet clean sound when I play really lightly, and just enough compression for the notes to still ring out and not choke from too light a signal from the pickups. The tonal balance with a Strat is perfect, very much like the Nux, but maybe just a slight bit brighter. Anyway, the Azor arrived today, and this thing does everything more than perfect in my opinion. 'cause in the event of a defective one, returning it is a lot easier than to China. I always try to buy from a US supplier even if it costs a little more, ![]() Then a few days ago I saw the Azor overdrive for $24 with free shipping from California. It absolutely nails the classic TS sound and feel more than any other TS clone I've tried, except the EHX East River Drive, which costs three times as much, and doesn't have as much gain on tap as the NUX, which has more than a typical TS, if you want it. I had one before, and I remember that I really liked it a lot, so I decided to buy this one and give it another try. I found a NUX OD3 in mint condition for $20 with free shipping. So, I got out my other TS clones (Rowin Warm Drive, Tomsline MAB Vintage overdrive, and Eno ES9), and although they all sounded really good, none of them really had me floored. And, more importantly, it doesn't have enough compression to nail the feel of a Tubescreamer. Although it sounded good, it's tone didn't quite capture the Tubescreamer sound just right. After living with the new Caline Captain Silver Tubescreamer clone for awhile, I became a bit disillusioned with it. Actually two new overdrive pedals, but one I got about two weeks ago.
